Autonomous drywall finishing robot

Okibo’s Level 4 application applies compound with a continuous-flow mud box, fed directly from a pump, on joints up to 24 ft long in a single motion. With Level 5 finishing and joint taping, one robot covers the finishing sequence.

Level 4 on a 24 ft wall

The robot runs the pump-fed mud box up each taped joint for the second and third coats, then changes tools and sands the joints. Filmed on a commercial warehouse project, with the taping crew working alongside.

One robot, the whole finishing sequence.

Developed and proven with leading US drywall contractors, the Level 4 application brings the same autonomy to compound that Okibo robots already bring to sanding and painting.

Mud is supplied straight from a pump to the box, so there is no manual pumping and the coat stays consistent. Switch toolheads and the same robot sands and paints.

What it finishes

  • Level 4 finishing with a continuous-flow mud box
  • Level 5 finish
  • Joint taping
  • 10 in and 12 in boxes for second and third coats
  • Runs on both EG7 and EG7+

On site in minutes, not days.

There is nothing to prepare: no BIM model, no pre-scan, no markers and no programming. Your crew sets the robot up the way they would set up a sprayer.

  1. Unload and drive inDrive the robot off the truck and into the room with a handheld controller.
  2. Load materialFill the onboard tank or connect the toolhead for the job.
  3. Position at the first wallPark the robot at the starting point.
  4. Choose the applicationSelect it from the robot’s Applications menu.
  5. Press startThe robot models the room, plans the work and executes it.

Questions contractors ask

Which finish levels does it cover?

Level 4 with a continuous-flow mud box, Level 5 finishing and joint taping, plus Level 4 and 5 sanding with a toolhead change.

How much can it finish in a day?

The Level 4 application covers more than 5,000 square feet of drywall per day.

How is compound supplied?

Directly from a pump to the box. There is no manual pumping, which keeps the coat consistent.

Is it a mudding or plastering robot?

Yes. Applying and finishing joint compound is what US crews call mudding and many other markets call plastering. The robot does it on its own, from Level 4 joints to a Level 5 finish, on walls up to 24 ft with EG7+.

Which robots support it?

Both EG7 and EG7+.

Does it need a BIM model or markers?

No. The robot models the room itself, in real time, with no preparation.
