October fades, and the cooler temps of winter are on the way. But never fear, we have lots of hot 🔥 news in this month’s edition of “The Finishing Touch.”

The world’s leading innovator of robotic tools designed to enhance a skilled construction team’s efficiency, increase safety, and address the labor shortage problem in construction.

Careers in Construction Month:

Inspiring Our Youth

October is officially “Careers in Construction Month,” a nationwide campaign held annually to inspire the next generation of craft professionals and showcase how fulfilling a career in construction can be.

As of July 2025, there were 306,000 construction jobs left unfilled across the country. Over the next decade, construction will need 1.9 million workers just to keep up with growth and retirements. Inspiring young people to join the trade will help to fill that huge gap.

As this Deloitte study indicates, integrating AI-enabled automation and digital tools helps to attract younger workers to the industry. With AI-powered technologies like robots or autonomous machines used in labor-intensive trades like drywall installation, the workforce becomes more efficient for those already in it, and more appealing for those considering career choices.

Hitting the Road

We’ve been busy spanning the globe to spread the word about Okibo’s innovations. First, our co-founder, Nadav Shuruk, had a fantastic and inspiring time attending CRETech last week in New York. Surrounded by trailblazers and innovators looking to transform the built world, there was lots of talk about robotics and other technologies shaping our industry.

Simultaneously, co-founder Guy German was a keynote speaker at the ROBEX2025 event in Korea, which also featured executives from leading robotics companies like Boston Dynamics, Kuka and more. Supported by the country’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Institute For Robot Industry Advancement, the 14th annual event was an exhilarating showcase of cutting-edge robotics and technology.

Okibo is well-positioned to emerge as a true leader in this revolution. For a deeper dive into Okibo’s strategic vision for the built world, request our investor deck or connect with Nadav on LinkedIn.

Virtual Reality:

Not Just for Gaming

Technology moves fast and is constantly changing the ways businesses find efficiencies and profits. Our industry is no exception, and Okibo supports all innovations that move our industry forward.

Walls and Ceilings magazine published a recent article about the growing use of virtual reality in construction.

“Virtual reality is transforming insulation training in the construction industry by offering faster, safer, and more consistent skill development—helping address labor shortages and appeal to a new generation of tech-savvy workers.”

Take a look at how VR is being used on sites today and how it may look tomorrow:

Making Jobsites Less Scary:

Happy Halloween!

At Okibo, we know construction sites can be full of “scary” surprises—from safety hazards to project delays. 👻 This Halloween, let’s focus on what shouldn’t be frightening—prep work, endless sanding, or late-night deadlines. Our intelligent robotics solutions help take the “tricks” out of tough tasks and bring treats like increased efficiency and enhanced jobsite safety.

Wishing all our industry partners a safe and hazard-free Halloween! Whether on-site or off, let’s keep up the momentum and continue pushing construction forward—no spooky setbacks allowed.
